James finally pieces together what happened to Gregory Barclay.
* A storm is closing in as James and Rosalind race to the dock to stop Gregory from boarding the last ferry. But the one climbing aboard is Mark. James chases him down.
* When confronted about the blood on his shirt, Mark denies murdering his father. He presses a tea bag into James' hand before disappearing onto the boat.
* Certain now that Gregory is dead, James and Rosalind head back to the villa. James lures Delia there with a text. Before she arrives, the power goes out and James has Rosalind hide in the dark to record everything.
* Once Delia arrives, James walks her through the case until she admits her part, covering for Mark who she believed killed their father by accident. James produces Gregory's will, which he claims leaves the children everything and Rosalind nothing.
* As they wait for the electricity to come back on, James boils some tea for Delia. When Delia refuses to drink it, James reveals why: the tea is poisoned with wolfsbane from the great room. He lays out how Mark got blood on his shirt cutting the wolfsbane and how the poison killed Gregory.
* The poisoned tea was never meant for Gregory, but for Rosalind, the stepmother Delia saw as a threat to the men in her family. Caught, Delia burns James’ notes and flees the villa, but Rosalind steps out from behind the curtain with the tape of the entire confession.
* With Delia gone, James heads down to the flooded cellar and finds Gregory's body, his pipe floating beside it.
* Back upstairs, Rosalind asks to see the will, and James spots the broken seal, one dog hair caught under the glue. He realizes Rosalind poisoned Gregory herself and let Mark and Delia take the fall, using James to find the body and pin it on them.
* The will leaves everything to the house itself, not Rosalind or the children. James could turn her in, but instead he burns the will and the pipe, and chooses her over the case. They have passionate sex by the firelight.
* Two weeks later, in Rome, James has never been happier. Then the police arrive asking about Gregory's murder, with a recording of James. He runs to find Rosalind, but she and Pesto are already gone. She set him up from the start.
